Posted by Stephane Dion

InterVideo®, Inc. and its partner Ulead® Systems, Inc. announced today that they will demonstrate HD authoring and content navigation from a HD DVD sample drive and disc at their CES.

Visitors to these booths will see first-hand how InterVideo and Ulead have leveraged their technology leadership to deliver products that make the HD DVD promise of superior video quality and enhanced interactivity a reality -- not just for professionals, but for consumers.
The demonstrations will show how InterVideo WinDVD® HD and Ulead DVD Movie Factory(TM) 5 can be combined to deliver a total HD DVD playback, authoring and burning solution on PCs and notebooks, barebone systems and TV tuners.
"As the first to develop and license HD DVD technology for producing Hollywood HD DVD titles, Ulead has made a significant contribution to advancing HD DVD," said Hisashi Yamada, Corporate Senior Vice President and Chief Fellow of the Digital Media Network Company of Toshiba Corporation. "And with InterVideo WinDVD's support for HD DVD playback, end users now have a complete solution for creating and viewing HD DVD videos."
"InterVideo's and Ulead's areas of expertise complement one another," said Steve Ro, CEO and President of InterVideo. "By collaborating and leveraging our technical expertise, we're able to accelerate the development of complete, easy-to-use applications that will set the pace for next-generation HD DVD technology. We're proud of the major contributions in editing, authoring, post- production and content protection that InterVideo and Ulead have made and look forward to using them to bring a whole new level of audio/video enjoyment to consumers."
Designed to deliver all of the benefits of the high-definition experience without the complexity, InterVideo's WinDVD HD can be used to navigate and play back the crystal-clear interactive content on HD DVD discs. Ulead's DVD MovieFactory software enables users to quickly and easily carry out the complete post-production movie process including editing, authoring, burning, backup and, if desired, content protection. Both HD DVD products will be released to the market to coincide with the release of HD DVD drives and media.
